If you are searching for a City Tech Title IX lawyer, this page is for City Tech students, and their parents, who have been contacted about a report of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking or other sexual misconduct. It covers City Tech’s own offices, titles, rooms, pages and support services, based on City Tech’s official websites. The Title IX Office at City Tech
Office and people, by title
At City Tech, Title IX sits in the Compliance and Diversity Office. City Tech’s pages do not show a separately named Title IX office. The director of the Compliance and Diversity Office reports to the president of the college. The director serves as chief diversity officer, Title IX coordinator, 504/ADA coordinator, and domestic violence awareness and prevention coordinator.
The 2026 Annual Security Report also lists a Title IX Specialist, and CUNY’s campus contacts table lists a Title IX Specialist under Title IX Leadership. The Annual Security Report refers to a TIX Deputy Coordinator as well. It does not say whether that is the same role as the Title IX Specialist.
Where the office is
City Tech’s web pages and its 2026 Annual Security Report give different rooms. The Compliance and Diversity pages, including the Title IX page, show Namm Hall, Room N-325. The 2026 Annual Security Report lists the Title IX Coordinator and the Title IX Specialist at N-322. The pages do not explain the difference, so confirm the room with the office before you go. Room N-325 is also the room given for student affairs (see below).
What the office handles
The Compliance and Diversity Office administers the college’s recruitment, hiring, appointment and equal opportunity policies. It provides on-campus training on discrimination prevention, including sexual harassment prevention. It also investigates student and employee complaints about discrimination, including sexual harassment. The Title IX page says to contact the Title IX Coordinator for more information on Title IX or to file a complaint.
How a Matter Starts at City Tech
City Tech’s pages describe several routes.
- Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX page directs people to the Title IX Coordinator to file a complaint.
- Listed reporting contacts. The Annual Security Report says allegations of sexual misconduct should be reported to one of these: the Title IX Coordinator, the Title IX Specialist, the Director of Public Safety, the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Chief Counsel and HR Administrator, or the Executive Director of Human Resources.
- Public Safety. Public Safety is in Namm Hall, N-109, and the Public Safety page says it can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Annual Security Report says Public Safety conducts investigations involving CUNY rules and policies, and that further review may be referred to Student Affairs and/or Human Resources.
- Confidential reports through Public Safety. A Public Safety officer can file a report without revealing the reporting person’s identity, except to the Title IX Coordinator and/or the TIX Deputy Coordinator when a sex offense or sexual harassment is reported.
- Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). BIT responds to behavior by a member of the college community that may pose a threat. The Annual Security Report links a BIT referral.
- CUNY University-Wide Discrimination and Retaliation Reporting Portal. The Compliance and Diversity page links it, without saying what happens to a submission.
On what happens after a report, City Tech’s pages say little. The Annual Security Report says Public Safety is responsible for reporting and follow-up investigation when an incident is reported. The Compliance and Diversity page says the office investigates complaints about discrimination, including sexual harassment. The steps after that are CUNY-wide and are summarized below.
City Tech Student Affairs and Conduct Offices
City Tech’s pages do not name a separate student conduct or judicial affairs office. They refer instead to student affairs offices, under several names:
- The Student Complaints page names the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs, in Namm Hall 300 and Namm Hall 325 (N-300 and N-325), for non-academic concerns.
- The Annual Security Report names the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment.
- CUNY’s campus contacts table lists the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs as City Tech’s Chief Student Affairs Officer, at N-325. The Campus Security Authorities list in the Annual Security Report shows the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs at N-300.
Under CUNY’s rules, these offices matter in four ways:
- The college Office of Student Affairs sends the Notice of Hearing on the Title IX track.
- The Chief Student Affairs Officer issues No Contact Orders for students.
- The Chief Student Affairs Officer receives a student’s written request to review supportive measures.
- On the non-Title IX Sexual Misconduct track, if the College President decides discipline is warranted after the Title IX Coordinator’s report, the President refers the matter to the Chief Student Affairs Officer, who may prefer charges.
City Tech’s pages do not say which named unit sends hearing notices; the notice itself will show who sent it. The Student Complaints page sends Title IX complaints elsewhere. Its entry reads: “Refer to Notice of Non-Discrimination and the Policy on Sexual Misconduct”. Its Student Affairs Grievance Form is for complaints about Student Affairs offices, not for Title IX matters.
City Tech Policy Documents and Pages
The City Tech Title IX page links CUNY’s Title IX pages and training materials, a student guide to Title IX when studying abroad, the Students’ Bill of Rights, and the “2020 Policy on Sexual Misconduct and Cross-Examination Revision”.
The Compliance and Diversity page links the CUNY Policy on Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination, the Notice of Non-Discrimination, and Affirmative Action Plans from 2019-2020 through 2024-2025. The 2026 Annual Security Report links CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct and says the policy is attached to the report.
The City Tech pages cited here do not name the 2024 CUNY Policy on Sex-Based Misconduct, which some other CUNY college pages still link. CUNY’s 2020 Policy on Sexual Misconduct is the policy CUNY applies to open and future Title IX matters, and it applies to conduct alleged to have occurred on or after August 14, 2020. On the Title IX track, the written notice must include CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct; if your notice does not say which version applies, ask in writing.
Support at City Tech
- Counseling Center, Namm Hall 108 (N-108). CUNY’s table lists the Director, Counseling Services for this office. The Counseling Center page says it provides “free and confidential counseling” in person, by phone or by video. Services include individual counseling, crisis intervention, support groups and referrals. Students request appointments through an online form. The page speaks to City Tech students generally, so a respondent can use it.
- Wellness Services, Academic Building ALL110. It offers free first-aid supplies, health education workshops and wellness tools. Its page does not say whether it is confidential.
- Public Safety, Namm Hall N-109. Public Safety is a reporting and investigating office, not a confidential counseling service. The Annual Security Report says “complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in all other contexts” beyond the crime statistics.
- Resources for complainants. The Annual Security Report presents its confidential reporting options for victims of a crime. Do not assume they are written for respondents.
Practical Steps for a City Tech Respondent
- Read your notice closely. On the Title IX track it must include CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct.
- Under CUNY’s rules the Title IX Coordinator decides the track. If your notice does not say which track and policy version applies, ask the Title IX Coordinator in writing.
- Ask the Title IX Coordinator for any supportive measures you need. A written request to review a No Contact Order or another supportive measure that affects you goes to the Chief Student Affairs Officer.
- Keep your notice, every message from City Tech offices, and a dated list of what you received and sent. Keep the policy version your notice names.
- If you plan to visit, confirm whether to go to N-325 or N-322, since City Tech’s pages differ.
- For confidential support, the Counseling Center is the City Tech office whose page describes its counseling as confidential.

The CUNY process in brief
Every CUNY college applies the CUNY Policy on Sexual Misconduct, which has two tracks. Title IX Sexual Harassment starts with a formal complaint and, unless the complaint is dismissed or resolved, goes to a live hearing before a three-member Adjudication Committee. Other prohibited conduct falls under non-Title IX Sexual Misconduct, where the College President decides whether discipline is warranted and, for a student, the Chief Student Affairs Officer may then prefer charges. The college Title IX Coordinator evaluates the allegations, decides the track and investigates. Each party may have an advisor, who may be an attorney. Frequently Asked Questions About City Tech Title IX Cases
Which City Tech office will contact me?
For a sexual misconduct matter, expect the Title IX Coordinator, who evaluates the allegations under CUNY’s policy. Public Safety also conducts administrative investigations involving CUNY rules, and student affairs may receive referrals. Your notice shows which office sent it.
Is the Title IX office confidential?
City Tech’s pages do not describe the Title IX Coordinator’s office as a confidential resource. The Title IX Coordinator is listed as a Campus Security Authority. A confidential report made through Public Safety is shared with the Title IX Coordinator and/or the TIX Deputy Coordinator when a sex offense or sexual harassment is reported.
Where can I get confidential support on campus?
The Counseling Center in Namm Hall N-108 describes its counseling as free and confidential, by phone, video or in person. Students request appointments through an online form. The Wellness Services page does not say whether it is confidential.
Who issues a No Contact Order at City Tech?
Under CUNY’s rules, the college’s Chief Student Affairs Officer issues No Contact Orders for students. CUNY’s table lists the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs in that role at City Tech. That office also receives students’ written requests to review supportive measures.
Can a lawyer be my advisor?
Yes. Under CUNY’s policy each party may have an advisor of choice, who may be an attorney. At a Title IX hearing only advisors cross-examine, and the college provides an advisor for that purpose if a party has none.
Which policy applies to my case?
CUNY applies its 2020 Policy on Sexual Misconduct to open and future Title IX matters, and to conduct alleged on or after August 14, 2020. Earlier conduct is handled under the version in effect when it occurred. On the Title IX track, the written notice must include CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct; ask in writing if the version is unclear.
